All Ivy Newport Polo & potluck Tailgate Picnic

Join local Ivy alumni for a potluck picnic, polo bash and meet  & greet with Team Italy player Marco Elser '81.

Saturday, July 8 from 3PM

The popular all-Ivy summertime Newport Polo Tailgate and Picnic at Glen Farms in Portsmouth, will hit the field Saturday, July 8.  As Team Newport USA  faces Team Italy, local clubs representing Columbia, Brown, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, and others will join for an afternoon picnic (from 3pm) and the classic 6-chukka polo match (from 5 pm). Please do bring some kid of Italian food & drink to share.

This year we have a special Crimson connection: Marco Elser '81 is playing for Team Italy. He and his brother Max (a Columbia grad) are scheduled to come by our tailgate and share their perspective on the game of polo and tips for following the match. Last year's gathering drew nearly 80 alumni from several clubs to watch a rousing polo match, which for many was their first encounter with the sport. 

Remember to bring food & drink for the potluck as well as lawn chairs!  

Ticket Info: General admission is $15 for ages 16 and up. Children 15 & under are free. Tickets can be bought by clicking on the blue box at the bottom of this page until July 7. There will also be General Admission Tickets sold at the gate, from 1PM on game day.
