Thanks to our friends from Yale for organizing this casual, family friendly event in Charlestown! Wear your Harvard gear!

Across the U.S. since 2014, Danish artist Thomas Dambo has created more than 40 colossal and whimsical troll sculptures from recycled materials to promote environmental consciousness. Punching above its weight class again, Little Rhody has five of them! And two are in Ninigret Park.

We'll visit both Erik Rock and Greta Granit in a leisurely self-guided tour. Then you have the option of having lunch at Monahan's Clam Shack by the Cove, where there's lots of space for kids to run and play. We have no reservation at Monahan's; order your own. After lunch, enjoy South County on your own, or if you will head north for home, we can make a pit stop in North Kingstown's Ryan Park to see another Dambo troll, Iver Mudslider.

This article in Rhode Island Monthly provides a good overview of the trolls.

More details on logistics will be posted on the Yale site here. Register to receive email updates, then come if you can.
